Gift Wrap Fundraiser: The PTO would like to thank all of the Kent Center School community, family and friends for their generous support of the gift wrap fundraiser. Parents will be notified as soon as a delivery date has been confirmed.
Grandparent’s Day Update: The PTO would like to thank volunteers along with our wonderful kitchen staff under the direction of Beth Menard and our outstanding custodial staff of Curt Mechare and his team for making Grandparent’s Day a very special event. Our grandparents and special friends were greeted by warm and welcoming faces as they enjoyed a “brunch”, were lead to classrooms and returned for lunch compliments of the PTO. Many grandparents and special friends attended what was a fun day for adults and students alike.
Fall Scholastic Book Fair: The PTO will be hosting the annual fall book fair this month in the library. The book fair will be taking place during the week of parent/teacher conferences (November 15th – 19th) and the hours are as follows:
Monday, November 15th – 8:15 – 5pm
Tuesday, November 16th – 8:15 – 5pm
Wednesday, November 17th – 8:15 – 8pm
Thursday, November 18th – 8:15 – 8pm
Friday, November 19th – 8:15 – 4pm
Parent volunteers are needed to help staff the checkout table as well as assisting students with wish lists and tidy book shelves. Help is also needed with set-up on Friday, November 12th and take down of the fair on Friday, November 19th. Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parents are reminded to contact the school to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher. Conferences are offered on November 17th and 18th. Parents are also reminded that there will be a 1:00pm dismissal on these days.
Box Tops for Education: Please continue to send in all box tops you may have collected. All proceeds go to the Kent Center School Scholarship Fund.
Kent Park and Recreation: Please note that there is a bulletin board in the cafeteria that includes notices of programs, trips and activities for youngsters and families. In the next few weeks students will receive forms so that they may sign up for the Kent Park and Recreation basketball season. If you have any questions you can contact the Park and Rec. office directly at 927-1003.
