Town Budget Hearing: The Kent town budget hearing is on Friday, May 2nd at the Town Hall at 8:00pm. Please consider coming out to support the school budget.
Spring Book Fair: The PTO is hosting a buy one, get one free book fair so now is a good time to stock up on books for summer reading.
Hours for the fair are:
Wednesday, April 30th -3:30 – 5:00
Thursday, May 1st, -8:30 – 7:30
Friday, May 2nd - 8:30 – 4:30.
Teacher Appreciation: Teacher Appreciation week is May 4-10. Faculty and staff at Kent Center will be treated to a buffet lunch on Tuesday, May 6th. Volunteers are still needed to bake and donate various goodies for the lunch. Anyone interested in helping is asked to contact Carol Spelbos at 927-3497.
Parents’ Forum: There will be a parents’ forum at Kent Center on Tuesday, May 6th. The forum is called Tackling Tough Topics with your preteens and teens. Parents of any age children are welcome to come. It will take place in the KCS library at 7:00pm, refreshments and babysitting will be provided.
Plant Sale: There will be a plant sale at Kent Center on Thursday May 8th and Friday May 9th to benefit the PTO. Dozens of beautiful hanging plants will be available for sale just in time for Mother’s Day.
KCS Field Day: Kent Center School Field Day will be held on Tuesday, June 10th, with a rain-date of Thursday, June 12th. The PTO is working with the Field Day committee on this school wide event and the PTO will again be providing t-shirts for all students. In order to conserve paper and time this year students have been assigned shirt sizes in school. A sign-up sheet will come home soon on how parents can help on Field Day.
