Inventor's Fair 2002 |
|||||||
| The eleventh annual Kent Center School Inventors' Fair was held in the school library on March 5, 2002. Twelve inventors, ranging from first to sixth grade, participated in this optional project to create inventions based on CT Invention Convention rules. The goal for each inventor was to come up with an original idea for an invention that solves a problem and serves a purpose - then follow through and make that invention. It had to be the product of a single inventor and parents were invited to help find materials or act as technical advisors, but were not allowed to do actual work on the invention. Each inventor completed activity sheets that helped the student keep pace in the process from idea to actual invention. These activity sheets provided a written avenue of communication between the inventors and CIC sponsoring teacher Lee Sohl. Students and teachers alike enjoyed examining the impressive inventions and hearing about the creative process. Local judges chose three representatives to the state Convention being held in April and all the inventors received ribbons and certificates praising their imagination and perseverance. |
