Athletics Dept.  Chair. David Bayersdofer reported extensively on enrollment (anticipated 610, 390 individuals), eligibility requirements, objectives, player and parent expectations, staffing, short term challenges, and long term goals.
Challenges:  Maintain athletic trainer, continue to provide a variety of sports at multiple levels, recruit teachers interested in coaching and administrating., maintain and upgrade facilities and equipment, set and expect high standards of sportsmanship throughout the community.
Goals: Build additional gym and all purpose turf field inside track with lights and stadium seating in the hillside.

Pupil Services Director, Theresa Terry reported that there have been four PPT meetings for students attending private schools within our district - Two recommended evaluations, one  review of evaluations, and one to develop services. Dir. Terry also reported that the total number of identified special education students  has decreased over the last three years, fluctuating in each school. Special education students is at 13% of the total population in the district. 

Principal, Gretchen Foster reported on the holiday assembly, music performance, art exhibit, and agricultural sales;  new inductees to National Honor Society, faculty leveling committee and professional development workshops, and guidance departments report to regional where 15 students from the Class of 2007 shared their experiences with junior’s and senior’s commenting on how well prepared they were coming from Housy. Most beneficial to them were courses in AP Biology, AP Cal/Cal2, Child Development, Creative Writing, Computer Animation, Computer Science, Contemporary Problems, Drama, Film, Honors AP English, History 12 H, IT, Life Skills(business) and Robotics.

Course of Study 2008-2009 -
Pottery has been removed.  
Pending budget, Computer courses have been reintroduced.
Some German courses may not be offered.

AP Students are not required to be tested but of the 44 test taken, 6 earned a 2, 12 earned a 3, 18 earned a 4, and 8 earned a 5,  5 being the highest score.
