     Colt Rhyme Celebration 2002

On Wednesday, March 6, 2002, 8 students from
Kent Center School participated in the statewide
Rhyme Celebration in Manchester, CT. This was the
11th annual event that we hosted last year in Region 1.

Elementary students from all over the state recite rhymes
in languages that they are learning in school or heritage languages. This year KCS was one of 41 schools in 20 towns in Connecticut to participate.

The purpose of the Rhyme Celebration is to promote children's enthusiasm for studying world languages. This years' theme was Over the Rainbow, there will be Peace, Harmony, and Hope. Six of our students sang a song in Spanish about peace and two of our students recited a rhyme in Russian also about peace.

Students had a great time!
