Living in an area of the United States where trees are everywhere we turn, we often take them for granted. Like our gardens, trees have to be taken care of so they will continue to grow. Arbor Day promotes the planting of trees for us and future generations to enjoy.

Trees are important because they offer cool protection from the hot sun in the summer, a canopy during a rainstorm, and
a break from the north wind.

They provide color and majesty throughout the year even without leaves.

Trees provide wood for our houses, stores and school; warmth for our fireplaces; food for our families; paper for our writings, drawings, books, and newspapers. Most
of all they provide beauty that we
enjoy everyday.
