In March, the Kindergarten at Kent Center School started studying the life cycle and parts of plants.  Connie Manes,
mom of Jules, came in several times to teach us about plants that we can grow and eat in our own backyards.  We used
the KCS greenhouse to plant, care for, and harvest
radishes, nasturtiums, and beans.

Mrs. Manes teaches us about the life cycle and parts of a plant.

We planted our radish seeds in soil from the greenhouse and watered, thinned,
and cared for them for 3 weeks.

Finally, they were ready to harvest!

Yummy!

Next we planted nasturtiums for
Mother ’s Day
and beans for
Father’s Day.

We can’t wait to see our plants continue to grow in
our gardens at home!

Thank you to Mrs. Manes for teaching us about plants and helping us grow some for our gardens.  And thank you to
Tru-Value Hardware and Lily’s Florist for donating our supplies.
