Have you been to the lobby of Kent Center School lately?

Second graders have been busy once again. They learned about different bodies of water in science class. Bodies of water include lakes, ponds, puddles, streams, and oceans. They also learned about the water cycle, water animal habitats, ways to keep our waterways clean, and uses of water. They participated in a project that incorporated art with what they learned about the ocean.

Each child was assigned an ocean animal. Students researched their animal to find it’s size, physical description, and one other interesting fact. Students then used water color to paint their animal to match the description.

As a class, we then went to the front hallway where the three levels of the ocean are displayed showing the correct temperatures and depths. Students hung their animal at the correct depth on the ocean.

It looks great!
