D'Hammerschmiedsgselln |

During their study of German, many classes learned a traditional folkdance from Bavaria. The eighth grade class learned it first and performed it for the fourth graders at the Oktoberfest celebration. Now the fourth and fifth graders have learned the dance themselves. It is called D’Hammerschmiedsgselln because the clapping pattern sounds like the rhythm made by a blacksmith hammering out a piece of metal. |

Step/hop to the left, then to the right. |

Any KCS fourth, fifth, or eighth grade German student is able to show you this dance. Try it! It’s fun! |
