     Kindergarten Sundae Shop

As part of a unit on learning to sequence activities, the Kindergarten students had to teach “employees” how to make an ice cream sundae. The students each pretended to be the owner of a new ice cream shop in Kent. Each student had to create a poster to show how to correctly make a sundae. Then they had to explain the steps to a group of their employees. Finally each student had to make an ice cream sundae following his or her own directions.
Mr. Horosky, Mrs. Miles, Mrs. Robey, Mrs. Sohl, and Mrs. Vega worked with the students in small groups.

One “owner” uses her chart to explain to her “employees” how the sundae should be made.

Ice cream shop “owners” explain and demonstrate to their “employees” the correct way to make a sundae.

Finally all ice cream shop “owners” had a chance to eat!
