     Second Grade Leaf Project

 

 
Throughout the first marking period, second graders studied trees as their science topic. They especially enjoyed outdoor tree activities, experiments, and examining tree parts. Second graders collected interesting and colorful autumn leaves for a special project connecting the art and science curricula. The students created beautiful animals using the various pressed leaves, seeds, and grasses.                    
 
 
             
  The children showed wonderful concentration during art class as they worked. Parent volunteers and classroom teachers joined in on the activity, guiding the children as they searched for different types of leaves to use for their art.
         
                 
                       
     
   
     
               
     
The finished artwork will be displayed on the walls of the main entrance.
